Board Certified OBGYN Physician
Board certification is an optional process for physicians who want to enhance their medical expertise beyond state licensure. After completing their residency, physicians can pursue board certification in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). To become board certified, a physician must pass a written test (Qualifying exam) to demonstrate their special knowledge and skills required for the medical and surgical care of women. Additionally, they must have experience in treating women's health care before taking the oral (Certifying) examination. The oral examination is conducted by a team of national experts to assess the physician's skills, knowledge, and ability to treat different conditions. The examiners also review the physician's cases from the past year.
